war in Gaza is the most complex and difficult conflict that the Gaza arena has faced, the intensity and duration of the conflict have not been seen before, therefore solutions that were correct for previous conflicts are not relevant to the current situation and many adjustments must be made in order to succeed and influence through effective aid.
The first lesson is that effective coordination (and unfortunately, we have seen quite a few cases of very ineffective coordination) is a fundamental condition for the ability to implement a successful aid program. It is necessary to coordinate all the time, almost every activity, with all the players and stakeholders, since today's solution is tomorrow's challenge and vice versa.
In addition, there are actors that consist of several internal factors with which it is necessary to coordinate separately with each and every factor, this corresponds to the complexity and difficulty.
The second and very significant lesson is to unite forces. Actors and organizations that knew how to join forces and create a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts was able to deliver aid more efficiently and quickly. We at ICS are proud that we know how to create these connections and the partnerships in accordance with the goals and needs of our partners.
The third lesson is that you always have to look at the big picture, understand the needs and also the interests of all the relevant parties.
